Updated Wedding Details
Ook, just under 400 days now (that’s just under 2 years).
So, I finally have my bridesmaid list final and official.
The concrete list is as follows:
Maid Of Honour – Miss Christine Cummins
Bridesmaid – Miss Mariko Hulme
Bridesmaid – Mrs Joanne Matchett-Murphy
Bridesmaid – Miss Kara Jackson
All four of them are so very special to me in their own ways. Christine I have known for near 14 years now, Mariko and I met on a forum, lived together as house mates at one stage and have been so close ever since, Joanne and I met on the same forum as Mariko and I did and have been developing a stronger and stronger friendship every day since. The three of them are pretty much considered as sisters of mine. And Miss Kara is my Niece, my brothers oldest child. She’s my world and would be lost without her.
Basically the theme colours will be a nice almost pastel yellow and white… Hopefully. Unless I change my mind before then XD…again!!
I am constantly trying to validate to myself that it’s worth cutting corners elsewhere so I can have the reception in a place like a club or RSL or somewhere so we don’t have to worry about catering or cleaning up etc. but there’s that little voice in my head saying that I should just give up and go the cheaper option. My dream wedding, even on a budget is to have it at a nice clubhouse of some variety which is why I don’t want to give up on the idea so easily. Rodney isn’t particularly fussed where we have it which is good, gives us more flexibility and range to look into.
I am lucky however. Joanne has offered to make the cake which is fantastic.. no-one makes Cake better than Jo…and the design is a bit of a surprise. My dress my MIL is making, and hopefully she won’t mind modifying Kara’s dress a little. Kara has asked if her dress can have a few little alterations, and what my little girl wants.. she gets =) The invites and trinkets I will get together with my girls to do and I am going to ask my cousin’s husband Allan to do the photography for me.
There’s probably more I wanted to update on but am too tired to do so atm XD
JOIN ME IN THE FIGHT FOR GLOBAL SANITATION!
World Water Day, 22 March 2010, is a crucial moment in the fight against the global sanitation and water crisis that’s killing 4000 children every single day.
Just one month later, politicians from across the globe will gather in Washington DC. to discuss what they need to do to fulfil some of the most basic rights of the world’s citizens – access to a safe toilet and clean water.
They must act, and so must we.
The World’s Longest Toilet Queue is a mass mobilisation event and Guinness World Record attempt bringing together thousands of campaigners from across the world to demand real change at the meeting.
Join us and stand up in solidarity with the 2.5 billion people across the world who still have to wait in line for their right to use a safe and dignified toilet.
On Sunday 21st March 2010 I will be starting a queue in southbank parklands, just near the big ferris wheel in order to fight for global sanitation and join the world record. I do hope you can help me too.
The aim to to get at least 50 Brisbanites queuing, grab their signatures on the official log book and send it into http://toilet.ohdev.co.uk/ to be added to the record.
Please help and bring along as many friends as you can. If you wish to help, leave a message and I’ll get back to you asap.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
This afternoon my fiance and I were taken to see “Cloudy with a chance of meatballs” at the cinemas with my two best friends. It’s a Sony Pictures film and it absolutely hilarious. It is like no other film I have seen and to be honest I think it rivals Dreamworks and Pixar. The animation was really well cone and the story well thought out. At no part of the movie did I feel bored or lost. And what’s even better is that it teaches kids a very valuable lesson.. well two of them. One is to be yourself and the other to always believe in yourself. Those are crucial to a child’s development and it’s good to see them in films today. I watched a teen chick flick that was released not long ago and was disgusted at the story behind the movie because it taught little girls that they have to be popular to be happy. Made me sick. Which is why I love films like Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. A real movie. I’d recommend it for everyone.
Too Much Junk Mail
This is how much junk mail we recieve in our letter box in ONE DAY. We get this volume of junk FOUR DAYS a week.

Now, lets say on average we receive twenty pieces of junk mail 4 days a week. That’s EIGHTY pieces of junk mail a week. I filled over HALF our recycle bin last fortnight with junk mail ALONE.. that was before bottles and jars and other recyclables.
It gets worse then Christmas gets closer than it is now. Think.. this is week one of December. By the time we get to a week before Christmas, we get this volume SIX DAYS of the week. And there’s usually 5five or so more catalogues along with the usual twenty or so.
It’s a waste. We are of the low income bracket and thus we VERY RARELY buy anything because we see it in a catalogue. Out of that lot you see in the picture that I retrieved from the letterbox, we will use ONE thing.. the Eagle Boys pizza voucher.
When retrieving it out of the letter box there were ants everywhere and upon closer inspection I saw the remains of a poor lizard that got crushed under the weight of all that paper and ink and plastics.
