In Need Of Repair
I am still in love with my iPhone. I don’t think (nor hope) that the novelty will ever wear off! It’s the most awesome piece of technology I have ever owned second to my PC. Only thing that sucks is that it has started to play up. For example it keeps dropping off any wireless network it connects too especially when you are trying to view the web. When viewing the web and I am out and about (not on a wireless network) it looses 3G and also refuses to view the translink website! Last night Rodney and I went out for a drive and when his phone had almost full range mine said NO SERVICE and then over half my battery drained in a matter of seconds. It yelled at me saying that I only have thirteen percent left so I turned the bugger off. Once restarted I had half my battery back and some service but it still doesn’t like me.
I have noted down the issues and have an appointment to see the people at the Genius Desk (Apple’s fancy name for the software and hardware technicians they have in-store) at the Apple Shop at Chermside on Tuesday afternoon. I am kinda hoping they give me a new hone and I just take it home and sync it with iTunes. I <3 iTunes some days.
In other news I have changed this site around once again. Today I have spent the time setting up my facebook page and Twitter account for DailyDiary. I will be spending quality time advertising this site on the social networking websites and trying to get some affiliates going. The more viewers the better.
Nifty New Technology
So, been a while since I updated, I know, I have just been so busy with everything I haven’t had the chance nor felt like writing.
My old phone was killing me, it was being a bitch by locking up all the time, loosing range in the middle of phone calls and doing all sorts of weird things so I got myself a new and shiny iPhone.
My Old Phone
My New Phone
I absolutely love my new iPhone, wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s a phone, camera, mp3 player, hand held games device, note taker, sound recorder and mobile internet device.
Being February now I have almost got my Uni timetabling sorted and await it’s start in the last week of this month. I do hope it goes smoothly, I don’t need another hassle on my hands. I think we spent more of January fighting with companies over the phone about bill stuff ups, account stuff ups and other matters than anything else.
Ugh, I still don’t feel like typing or talking much. Until next time peoples.
The Great Australian Internet Blackout
From January 25th to 29th, certain Australian websites will “blackout” in protest of the governments proposed internet censorship. This website will be one of those websites! I have also changed my Twitter and Facebook profiles to reflect my disgust that the Australian government is going ahead with this, proven to be useless, filter. And to think, I actually helped vote this out of touch government in. They may be doing some good things but when it comes to technology, they’re all dim-witted idiots. Well, mainly Conroy and Atkinson really.
I urge anyone with a Facebook profile, a Twitter profile or a personal website to join in the campaign next week by going to The Great Australian Internet Blackout website and do your part for this worthy cause. Imagine an internet where Google or Youtube or Wikipedia was banned. Steam and other digital download services removed from the face of the Australian internet! The only thing stopping our internet from being censored worse than the Chinese is us. We need to show this government that they are out of touch with the digital and technological world and stand up for our rights for once.
Sewing
For Christmas my m um bought me a basic sewing machine. I haven’t used a machine in over ten years and the training I did receive back then in school was minimal so I do not remember much.

I haven’t done much on it yet. I felt rather proud of myself last night getting it all threaded up on my own (with the aid of youtube). The instruction book you get is alright but it seems to skip steps.
I then took one of my fiancé’s hankie and sewed it together, doing a test run. Needless to say it was a success but he can’t use the hankie for it’s original purpose any more.
My goal is to be able to repair clothing and make cute little crafty things. I will try to keep this blog updated with photos of things I do with the sewing machine.
Damn Insects
This evening the midgee population of south east Queensland along with the flying ant society were in my kitchen hanging around the light and the kitchen table. The little buggers were everywhere. Had to turn off all the lights, close the windows and leave the room to get rid of em, and even with the windows shut the little buggers are still getting I somehow. Did I mention how much I hate insects!! The mosquito’s are out in force too. Have been for a few days now.
Cleaned the oven today, somehow a balloon got stuck the the base of the oven tray and you could imagine our surprise when we opened the oven up, after smelling something burning to find a pile of purple goo on the bottom of the oven. Good old turpentine got it off and then I used harsh oven cleaner to make sure the turps was gone.
I received an email yesterday from QUT advising me that I cannot do the dance subject I was hoping to do via cross-institutional study as it is not offered as an elective subject. Now this blows my whole 6 month plan out of whack. Now I need to think of what else I can do. I also should book in to see someone at centrelink to be sure the whole ‘you can’t study after July’ thing still applies to me. It was such a kick in the teeth reading that email. Any time I try to do something I really want to do, there is something that stands in my way that I can’t argue my way out of. People say to me that I should fight but as its bureaucracy that holds me back or money, in 99.99% of cases I can’t change it just for me. So yesterday was my wallow in self pity day. In fact today is a little too.
I don’t know weather I want to try to get in and do cross-institutional study doing German @ QUT or weather I should attempt to find something at Griffith or what. *sighs* I love life’s mountains but sometimes these mountains are steep.
