Whats on in 2010

What’s on in 2010 for me? Well lots but so little really.

Design wise I have really pushed forth on my kittish.net portfolio site. I am thinking of putting up a shop on there and selling stuff like t-shirt transfers and little prints etc. Just some ideas I am throwing around really. I am so happy with the logo and theme for the kittish site, but wish I could say the same for this site. I just don’t like it at all. I don’t mind the logo but think it needs work. As for the theme itself I have been working on it for days now. It’s all I have been thinking about and I seem to be getting nowhere. Perhaps I should give it a rest for now.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on this damn theme and logo, please let me know.

Wedding wise I have made up a list of things I am going to need to get prices on in the coming few months. I know where I want to have the reception but I won’t know until mid May as to weather I can have it there. Fingers crossed for me.

Otherwise I have been driving myself with Uni and playing EVE Online.

My musings of late

It’s been a while since my last update on anything really, except facebook. I haven’t been feeling very social at all which isn’t like me.

Life wise… not too much has happened which is nice. Uni has gone back, I am enjoying my subjects so far and really look forward to my Typography2 assignment: a Magazine. It will absorb a lot of my time but will be worth it. As usual, money is tight but one gets that when study doesn’t allow you to work. I tell people that you get used to not having money but some days it does get to me, especially when I want some new jeans and I have to budget in for a few months in order to have the money to get them.

In sad news I lost a family member to cancer. I will not be able to make the funeral but the family know I send my love.

Creatively I have done squat all over the past three months. I have been feeling down and haven’t had the urge to be arty. I am trying to bring my mood back up so fingers crossed, you might see me pump something creative like out soon.

Anyway, I am heading off to play Pharaoh for a few hours.

In Need Of Repair

I am still in love with my iPhone. I don’t think (nor hope) that the novelty will ever wear off! It’s the most awesome piece of technology I have ever owned second to my PC. Only thing that sucks is that it has started to play up. For example it keeps dropping off any wireless network it connects too especially when you are trying to view the web. When viewing the web and I am out and about (not on a wireless network) it looses 3G and also refuses to view the translink website! Last night Rodney and I went out for a drive and when his phone had almost full range mine said NO SERVICE and then over half my battery drained in a matter of seconds. It yelled at me saying that I only have thirteen percent left so I turned the bugger off. Once restarted I had half my battery back and some service but it still doesn’t like me.

I have noted down the issues and have an appointment to see the people at the Genius Desk (Apple’s fancy name for the software and hardware technicians they have in-store) at the Apple Shop at Chermside on Tuesday afternoon. I am kinda hoping they give me a new hone and I just take it home and sync it with iTunes. I <3 iTunes some days.

In other news I have changed this site around once again. Today I have spent the time setting up my facebook page and Twitter account for DailyDiary. I will be spending quality time advertising this site on the social networking websites and trying to get some affiliates going. The more viewers the better.

The Great Australian Internet Blackout

From January 25th to 29th, certain Australian websites will “blackout” in protest of the governments proposed internet censorship. This website will be one of those websites! I have also changed my Twitter and Facebook profiles to reflect my disgust that the Australian government is going ahead with this, proven to be useless, filter. And to think, I actually helped vote this out of touch government in. They may be doing some good things but when it comes to technology, they’re all dim-witted idiots. Well, mainly Conroy and Atkinson really.

I urge anyone with a Facebook profile, a Twitter profile or a personal website to join in the campaign next week by going to The Great Australian Internet Blackout website and do your part for this worthy cause. Imagine an internet where Google or Youtube or Wikipedia was banned. Steam and other digital download services removed from the face of the Australian internet! The only thing stopping our internet from being censored worse than the Chinese is us. We need to show this government that they are out of touch with the digital and technological world and stand up for our rights for once.

Bring on 2010

Ok, so we are into the new year.  I can’t believe how fast 2009 went.  Last thing I remember it was November XD  Where did my December go… did you take it?? *gives you shifty eyed look*

Every year for a few years now I have made up a slogan for that year.  This year it’s 2010 – year of commitment.  It’s a year where we are to keep our goals and resolutions, where we aim to set ourselves up and complete things we start.

For me this means paying off the evil credit cards and opening a savings acc for the wedding, getting a part timer, working towards getting my name out there for my design stuffs, get fit again, reduce the amount of added sugar in my diet and a whole lot of others that are more personal.

The theme is commitment because last year there were many things I started but did not finish and I plan on fixing that lazy streak.  My usual excuse was that i couldn’t be bothered and I am tired of not getting anything done.

So, here’s to a more productive year, happy new years everyone.
